Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: September 16, 2026
Vitality At Home is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is part of how we think about care: if this site is hard to use, it gets in the way of scheduling the help you need.
Conformance Target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Section 504 rule from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and commonly used to evaluate accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). WCAG 2.1 AA covers things like sufficient color contrast, full keyboard operability, compatibility with screen readers, readable text at large zoom levels, and captions or alternatives for non-text content.
Measures We Have Taken
This site was built and reviewed with accessibility as a requirement, not an afterthought. Specific measures include:
- A skip-to-content link, semantic landmark regions, and a logical heading structure on every page.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and empty alt text on purely decorative images so screen readers skip them.
- Every form field has a real, programmatically associated label; errors are announced to assistive technology, not shown by color alone.
- Full keyboard access to every interactive element, including the mobile menu, the body-map diagram, and the multi-step appointment form, with a visible focus indicator at every step.
- Motion and animation respect your device's "reduce motion" setting, and all content is present in the page even if scripts fail to load.
- Text and interface colors are checked against WCAG's minimum contrast ratios.
Ongoing Review
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We periodically re-test this site, including with automated tools and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, and we address issues as we find them or as they are reported to us.
Known Limitations
We are not aware of any current barriers to using this site with a keyboard, screen reader, or at high zoom levels. Two things are worth calling out directly:
- The Google Reviews widget on our homepage (powered by Elfsight, a third party) is outside our direct control. We test it periodically, and the same reviews are always available as a plain-text link to our Google Business profile immediately below the widget.
- On very narrow screens (roughly phone width) with JavaScript turned off, the collapsed menu button does not open. Every page and every link normally reachable through that menu remains available through the links in the footer of every page, so no content or destination is unreachable, but we recommend keeping JavaScript enabled for the easiest experience on a phone.
